PESHAWAR :A US missile strike on Wednesday targeted a family house pro-Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud in South Waziristan Taliban killing at least two, Pakistani officials said. One official said the house belonged to Maulana Ikram-ud-Din, who is Mehsud’s father-in-law, in the area of Laddah village in the South Waziristan tribal district, part of the wild badlands that border Afghanistan.
“The missile strike took place at around 1.30 am (1930 GMT Tuesday), two militants were killed,” the security official told AFP.
“The missile was fired by a US drone,” the official said.
Another security official said he was checking reports the targeted building belonged to Mehsud’s father-in-law and said up to four militants were reported killed, but could confirm only that two died in the attack.
It was not clear whether Ikram-ud-Din was also among the casualties, the official added.
