HUNZA: The explosives will be used to broaden the spillway to increase the water discharge from Attabad Lake, Geo News reported on Tuesday. However, Chairman NDMA has rejected the reports.According to sources, high officials along with NESPAK engineers and experts will visit the Attabad Lake and spillway to review the situation.
HUNZA: The water outflow from Attabad Lake is 3,000 cusecs whereas inflow has been exceeded to 4,000 cusecs as helicopter service fear to be remained suspended due to bad weather.Meanwhile, the width of spillway has been expanded to 32 meters from 18 meters.
GILGIT-BALTISTAN: The schedule of intermediate examinations still stand unchanged despite the imminent danger of massive flood in Gilgit, Hunza and Gojal; all the examinations will take place as per schedule.The water level at the accident-accelerated Lake rose by two more feet; but, no extraordinary outpouring from the spillway was witnessed.
HUNZA: After rising to the peak point of dead-level, the water has started flowing out from spillway of Hunza lake with low pressure initially, which is expected to increase as the time progresses, confirmed Chairman NDMA early on Saturday morning.
HUNZA: The water level in Attabad Lake is continuously increasing and spill is expected tomorrow.The distance between water and spillway reducing sharply and sources said the outflow will likely occur tomorrow.On the other hand, rescue operation is gear up to evacuate the people from low-lying areas from both sides of the lake as helicopter...
