PESHAWAR: Information minister NWFP Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said here Sunday that 14 policemen were killed in the suicide attack on the Mingora police station and the loss could have been more if security was not put on alert.
PESHAWAR :Air strikes killed 19 suspected militants Sunday in an ongoing bombardment aimed at shattering Taliban strongholds in troubled parts of Swat, and tribal areas. Army officials, meanwhile, said a close aide of Maulana Fazlullah, Taliban commander in Swat valley, was killed as a 10-week-long operation against militants in the scenic region rumbled on.

MINGORA: Pakistan military commander Maj. Gen. Sajjad Ghani has said that some of the final strongholds were being cleared and that “high intensity” operations against militants in Swat would end in a week to 10 days, as 95 percent area of the region has been cleared.
